Recognizing Women’s Talents and Contributions this International Women’s Day

At ENTECH, we believe that celebrating women’s achievements and empowering them to reach their full potential should be a year-round practice.

This is why ENTECH is dedicated to continuously honoring the excellence of women in this male-dominated industry. As experts in the field, we recognize the incredible contributions female professionals have brought to the advancement of pest control and management. Women’s progress has been stifled by a long history of under-representation and exclusion; however, their passion for innovating, developing their technical skills, and going beyond the status quo has opened equal opportunities and new possibilities. We can build and nurture a culture that actively encourages collaboration between genders.

This culture breeds innovation, creativity, and success through tapping into a wider range of perspectives, talent, and ideas. By recognizing excellence among women involved in tech, ENTECH catalyzes an inclusive environment of equal opportunity for all.

The valuable contribution of our female team members continues to be an integral part of the success and longevity of ENTECH. Their roles are expansive, from ensuring environments are free from pests to providing training to new personnel, interacting with top-level executives, and unlocking major accounts. This range in duties proves that introducing diversity within the organization leads to remarkable growth.

As knowledgeable and talented individuals, they bring new perspective and proven abilities that  serve to engender cooperation and higher levels of productivity across all departments. The reward is seen in sustainable results that allow us to continue to excel in our industry.

Words from the Thriving Women of ENTECH

Even in the so-called “male-dominated” industry, women can thrive and flourish, given they have a healthy environment that cultivates that. As an inclusive leader in pest management, ENTECH champions our people and their untapped potential.

Meet the #ThrivingWomen of ENTECH, who not only navigate but also lead and redefine success in the pest management industry, proving there’s no ceiling to their achievements.

“Na-hire po ako sa PESO [Public Employment Service Office]. […] Nuong una, wala talaga akong alam sa pest control. Parang gusto ko na sumuko nun. Pero tinulungan at tinutulungan ako ng mga kasama ko at ng [supervisor] ko. Ngayon may tinuturuan na akong bagong [recruit] kasama ng ka-buddy ko. Thankful po ako sa trabaho ko. Hindi sila namimili kung babae o lalake, tapos yung edad, hindi sila nang-[discriminate]. Kapag may emergency sa bahay madali sila [mangunawa].”

– Rhea Borja, Pest Management Technician (Operations)

“Nagsimula ako as a Quality Assurance officer, then QESH officer, tapos ngayon TRAIN Officer. Maraming opportunities sa [ENTECH]. Zero knowledge ako nung nagsimula ako when it comes to pest biology and technicalities. Binigay [sa akin] lahat ng trainings, pinunta ako sa mga attachments at naging technician din ako bago ako maging QA at TRAIN officer.

– Alona Gapayao, Training and Innovations (TRAIN) Officer (Training and Innovations)

“I prayed for a [SIC] work that gives me time for my family and time for the Lord. […] As a working mom na nahinto for 6-7 years, hindi ako nahirapan sa adjustment sa ENTECH. Hindi ako nahirapan dahil nandyan yung mga leaders ko pero ngayon nasanay na ako sa trabaho at naka adjust na ako. Nalaman ko na ito ang prayer ko kay lord, nasagot kaya pinagiigihan ko.”

[…] Malaking pinapasalamat ko kay ENTECH dahil pinagkatiwalaan ako sa isang magandang trabaho. Nakakatulong ako sa asawa ko at nakakatulong ako sa kanya.”

– Jane Osabel, Business Support Coordinator (Business Support)

“Before accepting the Operation Support Manager role years ago, I was very hesitant. 1) I have no knowledge in pest control industry, and also 2) puro lalaki nga ang nasa pest control. But I gave it a try. I started to learn and undergo training. Then the company offered me a sales position, which I was then hesitant kasi wala akong experience. But I felt the support and guidance of the management until I learned the ropes. Na change yung perspective ko kasi hindi lang siya pang lalaki talaga o pang babae lang. Nasa tao if they want to excel and learn. If you look at it, binigyan talaga ako ng opportunity ni company, you only needed to do the work. ENTECH will believe in your potential and celebrate your success.

[…] ENTECH looks after you and will make you feel that you are cared for, celebrated, and valued. You are supported and I am grateful for that. When the management team assigns you in a position, they see your potential. You just have to trust them.”

– Michelle Lim, Senior Sales Manager (Business Development)

It is ENTECH’s mission to foster female inclusion and expand the opportunities for professional growth among women in the pest management field. By striving to provide more opportunities and support to women, ENTECH further empowers them to soar above any glass ceilings that may be present as they strive for excellence in their work.
